June's life at home with her stepmother and stepsister is a dark one – and a secret one. She is trapped like a butterfly in a net.
But then June meets Blister, a boy in the woods. In him she recognises the tiniest glimmer of hope that perhaps she can find a way to fly far, far away from her home and be free. Because every creature in this world deserves their freedom . . . But at what price? - Goodreads
This book was sent to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was sent this book quite a while ago, possibly in February but that might be a lie. I decided now was as good a time as any to start going through my NetGalley TBR, so I started with this one. I started the book with no idea what it was about and it immediately dragged me in. I have always been interested in books about abuse, I *love* (probably not the right word, but I can't think of a better one right now) reading books that make me sad, that make me cry. The ones that make me feel something. This book did not disappoint, I was hooked on it and read it in two sittings. I smiled, I gasped, I cried. I didn't know what to feel half the time. I was a mess by the end. That's a sign of a really good book.

I have so many thoughts about this book, I don't even know where to start. I was just so angry and annoyed with what was happening to her, I had constant tears in my eyes. It was awful and horrible and I don't know how anyone could treat a child like that.

At first I really didn't like the parts with June and Blister. I thought they were silly and boring, but as their relationship grew, my feelings towards them together grew as well. I loved the relationship that was built between them, Blister was so good to her.

It frustrated me that she didn't tell anyone what was happening, I just wanted to scream at the book that it was okay, that someone will help, they will believe you, they won't ignore you, they will make sure you're safe. But she couldn't, she didn't and towards the end of the book, I think she realised what a mistake that was. It was completely heartbreaking and I can't believe the book turned out that way, I was honestly shocked. What happened was such a surprise that the whole book was worth reading just to get to the end.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It made me into a complete blubbering mess and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Books like this make me appreciate my life so much. I rated this book 4* on Goodreads.
